Canoe and Kayak Guide  >>  Turkey Creek
Turkey Creek, Palm Bay, Florida
Turkey Creek is a brackish water creek with hydric hammock surrounding it. This creek supports abundant wildlife. As you pass the deeper area of the creek, look for large swirls of water which indicate the presence of manatees. Click here for pictures of Turkey Creek
This is a good place to view alligators, fish, and an occasional river otter. Gopher tortoises and endangered indigo snakes have made their homes in the sandy soil of the sand pine scrub. Rufous-sided towhees, blue jays, cardinals, pileated woodpeckers, raccoons, and gray squirrels are year-round residents.  click here for Pictures
